Wanted Poster #1 was eventually just dropped from the site because it became irrelevant.  When this site was first created, the fake was fooling a lot of people, but over the years it became obvious that it was a fake and fewer and fewer people were fooled by it.  No one was ever able to locate the body shot, and eventually it didn't seem worthwhile to try to find it because it would no longer make an interesting Case File.
	Wanted Poster #2 was closed and became Case File #67.
	Wanted Poster #3 was closed and became Case File #93.
	Wanted Poster #4 was eventually withdrawn as people stopped believing it was real.  It was a very small picture and wouldn't have made a good case file anyway.  But for years it was in nearly every collection of Dolly Parton photographs.  Someone did send us the shot of the breasts that were used, but the original photo of Dolly was never located.
	Wanted Poster #5 was closed and became Case File #87.
	Wanted Poster #6 was closed and became Case #61.  Although it was the 6th Wanted Poster created, it was the 1st Wanted Poster that resulted in a Case being solved.
	Wanted Poster #7 was closed and became Case File #62.
	Wanted Poster #8 was closed and became Case File #64.
	Wanted Poster #9 was closed and became Case File #66.
	Wanted Poster #10 was never solved.  But as the years passed, it became less and less believable.  Finally, when no one was any longer being fooled by it, the Wanted Poster was simply withdrawn.  It no longer seemed like a worthwhile case to pursue.  Why leave it open if solving it would result in creating a distasteful Case File?
	Wanted Poster #11 was closed and became Case File #200.  This one took over a year to solve.  It was created around May of 1997 and was closed on July 17, 1998.   Back then, that was considered to be a long time.
	Wanted Poster #12 was closed and became Case File #86.
	Wanted Poster #13 was closed and became Case File #88.
	Wanted Poster #14 was proven to really be pictures of Kirstie Alley, so the Wanted Poster was withdrawn.  Click HERE for details.
	Wanted Poster #15 was closed and became Case File #91.
	Wanted Poster #16 was closed and became Case File #126.  It was a major case at the time, since Celebrity Sleuth Magazine had claimed the pictures were really of Gates McFadden.
	Wanted Poster #17 was closed and became Case File #90.
	Wanted Poster #18 was closed and became Case File #94.
	Wanted Poster #19 was closed and became Case File #97.
	Wanted Poster #20 was closed and became Case File #95.
	Wanted Poster #21 turned out to be real pictures of Princess Diana, and the Case File was withdrawn.  Click HERE for details.
	Wanted Poster #22 was closed and became Case File #120.
	Wanted Poster #23 was closed and became Case File #124.
	Wanted Poster #24 was closed and became Case File #158.
	Wanted Poster #25 was closed and became Case File #119.

	Wanted Poster #27 was closed and became Case File #300.  This Wanted Poster was created on Sept. 30, 1997, and wasn't closed until March 24, 2001 - almost 4 years later.  We thought the original real photograph might show a semi-transparent blouse, but we eventually became convinced that the blouse was not semi-transparent.  The fake was a fake and the real picture was not censored.
	Wanted Poster #28 was closed and became Case File #129.  But later the celebrity's lawyers contacted us and asked that her name be removed from this web site, so the Case File was removed entirely.
	Wanted Poster #29 was opened on October 24, 1997, and closed on September 2, 2005, when it was proven that the image is of a young nudie model who doesn't look like Sally Field when seen from other angles. Case File #411 was created to show the proof that it isn't Sally Field.
	Wanted Poster #30 was withdrawn when the photograph proved to be real.
	Wanted Poster #31 was an attempt to do something with all the look-alike fakes we were being asked about.  Eventually, we created the "Who Are These Women?" section of this web site and this wanted poster was withdrawn.  It took 3 Wanted Posters to hold all the look-alike fakes we had at that time.
	Wanted Poster #32 is the second of the three.  The idea at the time was to mark each picture as it was identified.
	Wanted Poster #33 was the third of the three Wanted Posters to be replaced by the "Who Are These Women?" section of this web site.
	Wanted Poster #34 is still open.
	Wanted Poster #35 was closed and became Case File #162.
	Wanted Poster #36 was closed and became part of Eye Test #23.  The woman was confirmed by the photographer Peter Gowland to be his photograph of a model named Lee Evans taken in 1940.
	Wanted Poster #37 is still open.
	Wanted Poster #38 was closed and became Case File #187.
	Wanted Poster #39 was closed and became Case File #290.  This Wanted Poster was created on April 16, 1998, and wasn't closed until December 21, 2000.
	Wanted Poster #40 was closed and became Case File #185.

	Wanted Poster #43 was closed and became Case File #264.
	Wanted Poster #44 was closed and became Case File #356.  We had withdrawn the Poster for a long time, but the picture kept showing up in collections of real pictures, so we reinstated it until the matching real picture was found.
	Wanted Poster #45 was closed and became Case File #262.
	Wanted Poster #46 was closed and became Case File #272.
	Wanted Poster #47 was closed and became Case File #270.
	Wanted Poster #48 was closed and became Case File #275.

	Wanted Poster #54 was withdrawn after people kept telling me that the woman in the movie clip is someone named Arleen or Arlene Hunte, and the porn segment was called 'Apple knockers and the coke'.  It didn't look like anyone was going to find out any more than that, nor did it seem that they would likely find clear images to show that the woman isn't Marilyn Monroe.  But most of all, whether or not the woman was Marilyn seemed to be a question that interested people years ago, but no one any longer believes it.
	Wanted Poster #55 was closed when it was decided it wasn't worth the effort - and that the "case" had already been "solved" by several magazines which showed the fake breasts and an explanation of how they were done.  For one such article, click HERE.  We received lots of information proving that Katherine Ross was wearing a prosthetic, but we never found a picture of the prosthetic by itself or a comparable picture of Katherine Ross's real breasts or anything else that we could use to make a good case file that was different from what was in the magazines.  So we just decided to drop the whole matter.
	Wanted Poster #56 is still open.  We have another shot of the same woman, but it doesn't help us to identify her.
	Wanted Poster #57 was closed on January 13, 2006, when it was decided that the real body shot is probably only available to the editors of Details magazine.  We only had statements from other magazine editors that the cover picture was fake and that it was faked by the editors of Details.  After 5 years of looking, it was finally decided that no one cares about this fake anymore.
	Wanted Poster #58 was closed on January 13, 2006, when it was decided that the original body shot picture is probably only available to editors of Spy magazine.  We know the picture was faked by using a nude model and pasting Demi's head on it (with Demi's permission) because the magazine contained an article about how it was done.  But, after 5 years of looking, it was finally decided that no one cares about this fake anymore.
	Wanted Poster #59 is still open.
	Wanted Poster #60 was closed and became Case File #311.
	Wanted Poster #61 was withdrawn on October 21, 2005, when it became abundantly clear that the woman is simply a nudist and the picture is from a nudist site, but there didn't appear to be any way to find out her name or to obtain any "evidence" that would make a good case file.  Many people where simply showing us the site where the picture originated.  But that isn't the kind of "evidence" we need.  The format for a case file doesn't allow us to simply show the picture and say it's an unknown look-alike without proving it with another picture of some kind.
	Wanted Poster #62 was withdrawn when the picture proved to be real. We the picture in a book called "The Life of Lucille Ball" by Kathleen Brady (1994).  The only comment about it that we noticed in the book was the caption for the photograph: "Struggling to survive in New York, Lucille posed topless".  Apparently she was hoping to get a job with the Ziegfield Follies at that time.
	Wanted Poster #63 is still open.
	Wanted Poster #64 was withdrawn when people started contacting a magazine publisher complaining that they'd printed these pictures, falsely representing them as being of Jennifer Jason Leigh.  Actually, the magazine printed them in good faith.  The photographer sold them to an agency as being of JJL, and the agency sold them to several magazines.  I was looking to find out who the woman really was, not to cause problems for any magazine.
	Wanted Poster #65 was closed and became Case File #316.
	Wanted Poster #66 was closed and became Case File #339.
	Wanted Poster #67 was found to be a real picture of Linda McCartney from a book called "Linda McCartney: A portrait".  As a result, the Wanted Poster was withdrawn.
	Wanted Poster #68 was withdrawn a couple days after it was created when the woman in the picture sued Penthouse Magazine for printing her picture without authorization.  Instead of creating a Case File for this, we added several news stories about it to our Legal Page.
	Wanted Poster #69 is still open.
	Wanted Poster #70 was closed and became Case File #364.
	Wanted Poster #71 was open and closed on March 19, 2004.  There was dispute over whether the pictures were really of Jennifer Garner.  The matter was settled when it was learned that the National Enquirer issue for March 29, 2004, has the same pictures (censored versions) on page 16.  The Enquirer article was scanned by "The Billy" and can be found HERE.
	Wanted Poster #72 was opened on June 18, 2005, and closed on June 20, 2005, when someone supplied the head shot and we created Case File #407.
	Wanted Poster #73 was originally created to find a head shot of Nikki Hilton, but when it was realized that it might be easier to find one or more of the body shots for these six fakes, the Wanted Poster was modified. Original version-> The Wanted Poster was closed on June 25, 2005, and became Case File #408.
	Wanted Poster #74 was opened and closed on July 6, 2005.  The woman is Carmella Decasare, a Playboy model.  The identification has been added to Eyetest #26.
	Wanted Poster #75 was opened on July 6, 2005, and was closed on February 1, 2008, when it was decided that it is most likely a real picture of Jewel.  A comparison of Jewel's right ear to the ear of the woman in the picture showed them to be identical.  Plus there are many other definite similarities.
	Wanted Poster #76 was opened on July 28, 2005 and closed on August 8, 2005, when the woman was identified as a "Mayfair" girl named Elizabeth Thorpe.  The picture and others which appeared in the British Magazine Mayfair. It's included in a "ROM" (Retired Old Man) CD collection. Eyetest #11 was modified accordingly.
	Wanted Poster #77 was opened on March 16, 2006, and it was closed on March 18, 2006, when the real picture was submitted and Case File #424 was closed.  The picture is one of a series of shots of Avril taken outside the Cabana club on Sept 08, 2005.
	Wanted Poster #78 was opened on August 9, 2006.  It was closed on August 16, 2006, when the head shot was submitted allowing Case File #426 to be closed.
	Wanted Poster #79 was opened on January 18, 2007, in response to queries about its authenticity which we couldn't answer.
