The Fake Detective began his good works by exposing the most frequently seen fakes he could find on UseNet newsgroups. His intent was to protect his favorite celebrities by making the world aware of how fakes are created.

CASE #01 - After reviewing this fake of Gillian Anderson for awhile, The Fake Detective feels he may have overrated it. He dislikes fakes that use true Nude Celebrity photos as a basis. Why bother? Any collector of Nude Celebrity photos will possess the original and will immediately realize that the fake is a fake. And, in this case, the photo of Sharon Stone is a much better and much more sensuous picture.

CASE #02 - This is one of the most frequently posted fakes in the Nude Celebrity newsgroups. The Fake Detective is tired of seeing it. He hopes that by exposing this fake it will cease to be posted. Fat chance! He also dislikes this fake because the original picture is one of the least attractive pictures of Julia Louis-Dreyfus around. But, he was impressed by the way the artist used one arm from the head shot and one from the body shot, plus replacing most of the background.

Addendum to Case #02: The original body shot was provided to us almost a year after the case was originally solved with just the head shot.

CASE #03 - This is another of the most frequently posted fakes in the Nude Celebrity newsgroups. Sandra Bullock's fake breasts were probably painted with Photo Paint or some similar program. The Fake Detective hopes by exposing this fake it will cease to be posted.

Addendum:  The "real picture" in Case #3 has been determined to be a fake, also.  It was apparently modified by the photographer or the publisher to enhance Sandra's breasts.  The original picture, before any modification, has been located by "Interested Observer" and is now part of CASE #03a.

CASE #04 - This Sandra Bullock fake gets The Fake Detective's vote as the most frequently posted fake in the Celebrity nude newsgroups. He hopes that by exposing it as a fake it will cease to be posted.

CASE #05 - The Fake Detective appreciates the effort that went into creating this fake of Sandra Bullock, but doesn't understand why anyone would bother. Neither the fake nor the real picture is a very exciting view of Ms Bullock.

CASE #06 removed by order of the celebrity and her lawyers.

CASE #07 - A C- rating on this fake of Gillian Anderson may be too high. It's not a very good fake, and it breaks The Fake Detective's Second Rule Of Fake Creation: It uses a real picture of another celebrity nude as a basis. Any collector of nude celebrity photos will immediately notice the fake because he'll have the original picture of Demi Moore. Besides, the Demi Moore photo is more sensuous.

CASE #08 - This is a very crude fake of Gillian Anderson and almost not worth exposing since everyone else will realize it's a fake. I'm posting it because it breaks The Fake Detective's First Rule Of Fake Creation: It doesn't fool anybody into thinking it's real.

Addendum: As things turned out, we could only come up with two (2) Rules of Fake Creation.

CASE #09 - This is a very good fake of Gillian Anderson. Even The Fake Detective was temporarily fooled by it. Unthinkable, isn't it!? It was only after careful examination that he decided it's a fake. The earring hanging at a 45 degree angle did the trick.

Addendum: This was actually the first case solved by The Fake Detective. Later, when we resolved problems with our news server, all the case files were renumbered, and somehow it became Case #9.

CASE #10 - This fake of Gillian Anderson briefly fooled The Fake Detective when it first appeared! He probably wouldn't have realized it was a fake if the same head (with identical strands of hair on the forehead) hadn't been used on other fakes (#9 & #14). The technical accomplishment in darkening the skin tones to match the body is superb!

Addendum: This fake was solved at about the same time as Case #9. It was the discovery that this fake plus Case #9 and Case #14 all use the same head shot that triggered the creation of The Fake Detective.

CASE #11 - This fake of Helen Hunt is subtle enough to seem real. It undoubtedly fooled a lot of people - but not The Fake Detective.

CASE #12 - This fake of Gillian Anderson is fairly well done. To The Fake Detective's trained eye, however, the head appears a tad too small for the body. Otherwise it would be a very good fake.

Addendum: Exposing this fake (and some others like it) back in 1996 has become a big regret. It's nothing but a fake twat shot, but at the time we didn't know how many such fakes there were around. Today we avoid them like the plague.

CASE #13 - This fake of Gillian Anderson shows considerable expertise with digital editing, particularly in the way the real head was placed behind the hand belonging to the fake body. That took a lot of time and skill. The Fake Detective knew the picture was a fake but, because of all the digital editing, he thought the original picture might have been of a look-alike - until the real head shot was provided by "Valkyrie".

Addendum: The above text and the graphic were modified to incorporate new information received months after the original case was closed. And then a year and a half after we originally closed Case #13, someone else finally found the real body shot and sent it to us. And we again updated the Case File.

CASE #14 - This fake of Gillian Anderson truly fooled The Fake Detective for a long time. It could be considered the fake that caused The Fake Detective to go into business. He thought it was a picture of her taken during the first season of X-Files, when she was chubbier (particularly after she became pregnant). However, further investigation found the real head shot used to make this fake (and several other very good fakes). And then someone on the net posted the real body that was used.

Addendum: This could also be considered The Fake Detective's first case, since it was his curiousity about whether this picture was real or not that caused him to begin his investigative work. It wasn't the first case solved, but it started everything.

CASE #15 - This fake of Gillian Anderson certainly didn't fool The Fake Detective for one second. But if it wasn't for fakes (good and bad), he wouldn't have a job.

CASE #16 - This fake of Gillian Anderson was created by combining a photo of Gillian's head with a full body drawing by Sorayama Hajime. It cannot be rated because the artist happens to be an operative on The Fake Detective's staff. He won't be punished for what he did, because, frankly, we like this fake.

Addendum: Idle Hands created this fake in order to determine if anyone on UseNet was actually receiving our postings. When there was no reaction to it, we all knew that our postings were not being distributed. We felt it was next to impossible for the entire population of the nude celebrity newsgroups on UseNet to ignore this creation - and we were right.

CASE #17 - This fake of Patricia Richardson was created by combining a photo of Ms Richardson with a full body shot of a lingerie model. As with Case #16, this fake cannot be rated because it, too, was done by one of The Fake Detective's operatives. With our unit both creating fakes and The Fake Detective exposing them, we could become a self-contained entity.

CASE #18 - This fake of Michelle Pfeiffer has been around a long time. It was created by applying Michelle's head to someone else's body. It's a good fake, but it's still a fake.

CASE #18a (Added Information) - This addition to case #18 was created after some people disputed the validity of the original Case File. It's difficult to believe that anyone would look at the real and the fake side by side and not see that the heads are identical. It would be nearly impossible to have the earrings and every strand of hair around them in identical positions in two photographs (even if they were taken minutes apart).

Addendum: Strangely, this is still a picture that people sometimes question us about - challenging our findings. Those people still feel it IS possible for Michelle Pfeiffer to have posed for two different pictures - one nude and one fully clothed - and still have kept every strand of hair in exactly the same place.

CASE #19- This fake of Princess Di was accomplished by attaching the Princess's head to a lingerie model's body. The Fake Detective wishes it wasn't a fake. He, too, dreams of Princess Di. And since it was created "in-house" as part of our effort to become self-contained, it cannot be rated.

Addendum: After Princess Diana's tragic death, we received a few requests to remove all fakes of her, but we felt that it was more important to continue to show that such pictures are not real. And in Case #19 the "dream" was created to show admiration for her beauty, a beauty which will live forever.

CASE #20 - This fake of Sophia Loren was done by combining Sophia's head with someone else's body. The Fake Detective commissioned this fake to be produced "in-house" since he dreams about Sophia almost every night and he wanted a nice color picture that was better than all the old black-and-white nudes that Sophia posed for many years ago. He doesn't dream about Sophia as much as he used to, but she's still in the top five.

CASE #21 - This fake of Lucy Lawless (a.k.a Xena) seems hardly worth the bother. It's erotic in its way, but it's not THAT erotic. However, with no real nudes or erotic pictures of Lucy to be found, The Fake Detective acknowledges that that anything at all erotic of Lucy Lawless is better than nothing.

Addendum: Long after this file was closed, Lucy Lawless did pose for some lingerie shots that many consider "erotic".

CASE #22 - This is not really a true fake of Lucy Lawless. Someone is merely trying to foist off a picture of Playboy model Traci Adell as a picture of Lucy Lawless. They DO look a lot alike. Why they cropped the picture and created a mirror image next to the real image is anyone's guess. The Fake Detective would like people to stop posting this picture. When he sees "Xena" as the subject of a posting, he keeps getting his hopes up that someone has really found something. And then it just turns out to be yet another posting of this picture or of the fake exposed in Case #21.

CASE #23 - This fake of Gillian Anderson was uncovered while looking though about 50 that had been posted to an X-Files newsgroup. While The Fake Detective is thoroughly tired of exposing Gillian Anderson fakes, this one deserves recognition. It shows considerable imagination. Many people were undoubtedly fooled by it, and we've heard there may even have been mass panic when people thought that posing like this caused Agent Scully's brain tumor. All those people can rest assured, posing like this will NOT give you a brain tumor. The picture is a fake. Aliens caused Agent Dana Scully's brain tumor.

Addendum: The text for this case was meant to be a joke. (Agent Scully's brain tumor wasn't caused by aliens, it was caused by posing his way! Get it?) It seemed funny to us at the time, but the humor certainly doesn't stand the test of time, and by the time you read this, the real causes of Agent Scully's brain tumor will probably be known and some kind of cure will have been found - in order to keep the show running.

CASE #24 - This picture of Cynthia Brimhall is CONSTANTLY being posted as a picture of Gates McFadden. Ms. Brimhall doesn't look anything at all like Ms. McFadden - except for the red hair. The Fake Detective asks that you please cease and desist with these idiotic postings. It just wastes everyone's time!

Addendum: This damn look-alike fake is still constantly posted!

CASE #25 - This fake of Courtney Cox isn't bad. It's a retouched photo. Someone just used some software like Photo Paint to wipe out a portion of her jacket and to paint in a breast. It's not the most common fake of Ms. Cox, but it's one of the better ones. And it retains an element of class, which is appreciated.

CASE #26 - This fake of Alicia Silverstone is constantly being posted as if it were real. It's not a very good head shot of Alicia, and The Fake Detective isn't a fan of hers, so when someone who wanted this fake exposed sent The Fake Detective the body shot, The Fake Detective used it to complete this case.

Addendum: Of all the fakes we've exposed, we are totally unable to understand why this one is so popular and seems to fool so many people. It seems like a very bad fake to us.

CASE #27 - This fake of Sandra Bullock apparently fooled a few people - but not The Fake Detective, of course. The Fake Detective immediately noticed that the head doesn't sit quite right on the neck. It makes the neck appear awkwardly stretched and too long. It's a fairly good job, however.

CASE #28 - This fake of Sandra Bullock was created in-house, so it cannot be rated. One of The Fake Detective's staff, Mr. Idle Hands, created this fake because he (and the rest of us) have frequent dreams about Ms. Bullock, and we all wanted a picture that shows Ms. Bullock as she appears in our dreams.

CASE #29 - This fake of Janine Turner was created in-house, so it cannot be rated. One of The Fake Detective's staff, Mr. Idle Hands, created this fake because he (and the rest of us) have dreams about Ms. Turner every time we happen to watch a rerun of "Northern Exposure". We all wanted a picture of Ms. Turner as she appears in our dreams.

CASE #30 - This fake of Courtney Cox has been around a long time and everyone probably assumes it's a fake. However, here's the proof. It could be the most famous fake around, since it was once featured in a story on the TV show "Entertainment Tonight. The real head shot was found on a German site, but it's apparently a small picture from the cover of PEOPLE magazine. Apparently, because the original head shot was very small, that's why the fake is also small.

CASE #31 - This fake of Geena Davis is interesting because the real picture is also sometimes thought to be a fake. However, Geena Davis apparently was once a lingerie model. We've included two other lingerie shots with the case file to illustrate this.

CASE #32 - This fake of Markie Post was investigated as a result of a request by one of The Fake Detective's fans. It's a fairly good fake, probably underrated at B+. The Fake Detective, however, thinks that Ms. Post has a feather-like bush of lighter color.

CASE #33- These two fakes of Raquel Welch and Carrie Fisher were handled as one case because they both copy the same well-known photo of Joan Severance, and because it's easier to prove the case by showing them together. The Fake Detective rates the fake of Carrie Fisher a little lower because he feels the head is a tad too small.

Addendum: The original picture of Joan Severance has also been used to create fakes of many other celebrities.  So many of them have been pointed out to us that we created a supplement with three more fakes (Julia Roberts, Kylie Minogue and Jennifer Aniston).  To view it, click HERE.

CASE #34 - This fake of Betty Boop was created in-house so we could have a party to celebrate the closing of our 50th case. Cases #30, #31 and #34 were still unsolved when we closed case #50. Cases #30 and #31 were rushed to completion, and someone else solved our real case #34 before we could solve it, so we just replaced #34 with Ms. Boop.

Addendum: Much later the original Case #34 became Case #76 when people continued to ask us about it. Idle Hands put lingerie on Betty Boop to create the fake, but he did not create the original image.

CASE #35 - This fake of Meg Ryan was created in-house by a member of The Fake Detective's staff, Mr. Idle Hands, so it cannot be rated. Meg Ryan stirs The Fake Detective's protective impulses. He wants to whisk her off to his cave and protect her from the evils outside.

CASE #36 - This fake of Andie MacDowell was created in-house, so it cannot be rated. Mr. Idle Hands, created this fake because he and the rest of us on The Fake Detective's staff have dreams about Andie MacDowell every time we watch "Groundhog Day" or "Michael" or "Four Weddings And A Funeral". We all wanted a picture of Andie MacDowell as she appears in our dreams.

CASE #37 - This fake of Kimberly Williams was created in-house, so it cannot be rated. One of the Fake Detective's staff, Mr. Idle Hands, created this fake because he (and the rest of us) havedreams about Kimberly. She's sooooooo cuddly! We all wanted a picture of Kimberly Williams as she appears in our dreams.

CASE #38 - This fake of Lynda Carter was created in-house by a member of The Fake Detective's staff, Mr. Idle Hands, so it cannot be rated. We don't really dream about Wonder Woman that often, we just dream about Lynda and how, under those clothes, she's actually naked!

CASE #39 - This fake of Courtney Cox was created in-house by a member of The Fake Detective's staff, Mr. Idle Hands, so it cannot be rated. Her classic beauty often starts us all to dreaming.

CASE #40 - This fake of Reba McEntire was created in-house by a member of The Fake Detective's staff, Mr. Idle Hands, so it cannot be rated. Reba was voted The Woman We'd Most Like To Be Stranded On A Desert Island With. When we're too worn out to do anything else, we feel we would still like to listen to her talk and sing.

CASE #41 - This fake of Lauren Holly was created in-house by a member of The Fake Detective's staff, Mr. Idle Hands, so it cannot be rated. When we see Lauren Holly any time and anywhere, we stop in our tracks and cannot think about anything or anyone else.

CASE #42 - This fake of Helen Hunt was created in-house by a member of The Fake Detective's staff, Mr. Idle Hands, so it cannot be rated. We're all mad about Helen.

Addendum: Strangely, many times people have sent us the original "dream" created by Idle Hands, asking us if it is real. And we have to respond that we definitely know that it is a fake, since we created it.

CASE #43 - This fake of Jill Hennessy was created in-house by a member of The Fake Detective's staff, Mr. Idle Hands, so it cannot be rated. We all liked Ms. Hennessy when she was on "Law And Order", and we all still dream about her.

CASE #44- This fake of Cher was created in-house by a member of The Fake Detective's staff, Mr. Idle Hands, so it cannot be rated. Cher appears in our dreams when we watch old tapes of her strutting around on a stage in skimpy attire, belting out songs. She still generates more erotic dreams than anyone else.

CASE #45 - This fake of Morgan Fairchild was created in-house by a member of The Fake Detective's staff, Mr. Idle Hands, so it cannot be rated. Her classic beauty really turns us on.

CASE #46 - This fake of Julia Roberts was created in-house by a member of The Fake Detective's staff, Mr. Idle Hands, so it cannot be rated. Julia wins our vote for The Woman We're Most Curious About. What is Julia really like? Even The Fake Detective doesn't know.

CASE #47 - This fake of Michelle Pfeiffer was created in-house by a member of The Fake Detective's staff, Mr. Idle Hands, so it cannot be rated. Michelle Pfeiffer is in our dreams almost every night. No one generates more dreams than Michelle.

CASE #48 - This fake of Julia Louis-Dreyfus was created in-house by a member of The Fake Detective's staff, Mr. Idle Hands, so it cannot be rated. The Fake Detective keeps asking us if we're actually dreaming about Julia Louis-Dreyfus or Elaine Benes. It's hard to say, but there's no doubt she's there in our dreams.

CASE #49 - This fake of Isabella Rossellini was created in-house by a member of The Fake Detective's staff, Mr. Idle Hands, so it cannot be rated. Ah, Isabella ... Isabella ... Isabella. She's in our dreams more often than anyone except Michelle Pfeiffer and Rosanna Arquette.

CASE #50 - This fake of Rosanna Arquette was created in-house by a member of The Fake Detective's staff, Mr. Idle Hands, so it cannot be rated. Rosanna Arquette is probably second in our dreams, only surpassed by Michelle Pfeiffer.

Addendum: This "dream" of Idle Hands is the one that gets the most criticism about the head being too large. When placed side by side with the real picture, it appears that the critics are probably right.

CASE #51 - This fake of Crystal Bernard has been around for a long time. A fan of The Fake Detective asked him to work on it. It's been exposed by others, but The Fake Detective adds his authority to verify that it's a fake.

CASE #52 - This fake of Brooke Shields would be excellent if it wasn't for the fact her breasts are that large only in her dreams. (In our dreams her breasts are just the right size.)

CASE #53 - This fake of Reba McEntire is excellent except for the fact that the head seems too far above her breasts. Reba is a tiny woman, and the proportions just don't seem right.

CASE #54 - This fake of Fran Drescher isn't very good. The biggest problem seems to be that the light is coming from one direction for her face and another for her body. (Idle Hands says the head is too small, but he's always saying that.)

CASE #55 - This fake of Patricia Richardson used the same head shot as one of Idle Hands' creations, so it was easily detected. It's an excellent job. It makes us want to see more of Ms. Richardson.

CASE #56 - This fake of Barbara Eden was accomplished by some simple photo retouching. It's been around for a long time. The Fake Detective created a case file for it in hopes that people will stop posting it. Fat chance!

CASE #57 - This fake of Markie Post is fairly good in The Fake Detective's opinion. It's probably underrated at C+. The creator apparently had a hard time blending the different hair colors and skin tones, otherwise it would have been rated higher. (Idle Hands says he thinks the head is too small.)

CASE #58 - This fake of Meg Ryan isn't bad, but it's probably overrated at C. This was apparently the first step in the process of creating several other "gross-out" pornography fakes. The neck is too thick and more work is needed on the tips of her hair near her left shoulder.

CASE #59 - This fake of Sandra Bullock is probably wildly overrated at a B, but it's fairly well done, which means there isn't anything about it to identify it as a fake if you don't have the real face shot or the real body shot to compare against.

CASE #60 - These two fakes of Julia Louis-Dreyfus appeared one after the other. Apparently the one in the middle was done first. Why it was posted with a green face is anyone's guess. The picture on the left was posted later, apparently by the same person after he/she worked to correct the color. It's pretty good, but the memory of the green face version lingers and makes us see a green tint where it probably no longer exists.

CASE #61This fake of Marina Sirtis couldn't have been exposed without the able help of Raymond Clements who responded to our wanted poster. It's an excellent fake with no visible indicators showing it to be a fake. The Fake Detective always assumed it to be a fake, but, until now, he was not able to prove it. With tens of millions of body shots available on-line to creators of fakes, it's impossible for our small group to examine them all.

Addendum: This was the first case to be truly solved with the assistance of someone outside our group. It was solved by a response to our Wanted Poster #6.

CASE #62This fake of Morgan Fairchild is exposed with the assistance of "Frank Fallon". The original body shot of Jenny McCarthy is undoubtedly known to millions of people, but The Fake Detective isn't a fan of Jenny's and has no pictures of her in his files, so the assist is appreciated. The Fake is excellent work, even though it is in black and white. There's very little about it to indicate it isn't real.

CASE #63 - This fake of Julia Louis-Dreyfus is the easiest case The Fake Detective ever solved. The fake appeared shortly after one of The Fake Detective's staff, Honest John, posted the original photograph as part of a collection of his favorites. (The original picture remains a favorite because it's looks more like a picture of Elaine Benes than a picture of Julia Louis-Dreyfus.)

CASE #64This fake of Kate Mulgrew is really pretty bad. However, putting Kate Mulgrew's head on a teenager's body is kind of funny, if you have a warped sense of humor. Fortunately, some of us do. The Fake Detective is grateful to "Partick Ols" for supplying the body shot in response to our WANTED poster, and to "WHC" for supplying the head shot.

CASE #65 - This fake of Loni Anderson is excellent. Even under very close examination there's no way to detect that the fake isn't real. Only by looking at the real and fake pictures side by side, seeing how every strand of hair is identical, and finding faint signs of the missing bathing suit straps, can one be certain the nude is a fake. We like this fake. It's Loni from her WKRP days - as she was and as we imagined her.

CASE #66This fake of Lucy Lawless was solved with the assistance of "Warewulf" who supplied the body shot in response to our Wanted Poster. The fake isn't particularly good, but it's one of very few Lucy Lawless fakes around and thereby deserves exposing.

CASE #67This fake of Debra Winger was solved with the assistance of "Blackdragon" who supplied the body shot in response to our Wanted Poster #2. The fake is fairly good, although under close examination it can easily be seen to be a fake. The Fake Detective exposed this case because it often gets posted as if it were a real picture.

CASE #68 - This fake of Raquel Welch is posted very frequently. It's not a particularly good fake, and very little expertise was needed to create it, but The Fake Detective decided to expose it because too many people believe the fake is real.

CASE #69 - This fake of Sandra Bullock has been frequently posted as if people believe it's real. It took a lot of photo-retouching to create this picture, but it's clear the fake body is too smooth and perfect to be real.

CASE #70 - This fake of Raquel Welch is a bit of a puzzler. It obviously didn't take much photo retouching effort to remove the string and the back of the bikini to create the fake "nude", and it wasn't very well done, particularly around her butt, however the entire background appears to also have been altered. The Fake Detective suspects that neither the fake nor the "real" picture shows the original background from the original picture. The missing mark on her left forefinger also indicates that the fake and the real picture came from different scans of different versions of the same original picture. Comprendo?

Addendum: "CaptMooCow" advised us on Sept. 30, 1998, that the original photo was printed in a 1984 book "The Raquel Welch Total Beauty and Fitness Program", and the original background consists of sand dunes. The photo is on page 226.

CASE #71- This fake of Jaclyn Smith would have gone unexposed if "Sleepy" of SleepyScan and Lux Lucre hadn't provided the real picture. The Fake Detective was fooled and is beating himself on the head for not realizing that if Ms. Smith had posed for this picture she almost certainly would have posed for others in the same photo shoot. And no others have ever been found or posted.

CASE #72 - This fake of Gates McFadden has been around a long time. It's frequently posted, and it's very well done. The Fake Detective would have rated it higher, but he dislikes twat shots since that makes them OBVIOUS fakes. Even though the face was seamlessly replaced, he doubts anyone ever believed the fake was real. It is, however, a good example of the art of fakery. Lux Lucre provided the real body shot.

CASE #73 - This "fake" of Barbara Eden is really a picture of Bobbie Bresee, who stars in made for video features such as "Drive-In Madness", "Even Hitler Had A Girlfriend" and "Beach Blanket Blood Bath". The Fake Detective was assisted by Raymond Clements in uncovering this fraud. Deliberately posting look-alikes seems to be a trend for untalented people who cannot actually create fakes. We feel "look-alikes" are the most annoying type of "fakes" around.

CASE #74 - This fake of Carly Simon has been around for a long time. It's a fairly good fake and probably fooled a few people since Carly Simon isn't normally the target of fakes. "Sleepy" of SleepyScan and Lux Lucre provided the real body shot needed to close this case.

CASE #75 - This fake of Elle MacPherson fooled even The Fake Detec-tive! Until he saw the real picture, he had no reason to believe the fake was indeed a fake. It's very well done and may even have been done with an artist's air brush BEFORE being scanned. There's no blurring as would be seen on a typical fake, and even in the vicinity of her hair there are none of the typical indicators of digital editing. The Fake Detective is indebted to "Gripper" and "Lux Lucre" for providing the real photograph.

CASE #76 - This fake of Nana Visitor was previously exposed by the photographer who owns the copyright to Ms Visitor's real photograph. However, when Lux Lucre forwarded a copy of the real body shot, The Fake Detective decided to create a case file for it. It's a very well done fake, and if it wasn't for the fact that Nana Visitor is somewhat of an obscure celebrity and barely recognizable without the nose appliance she uses as Major Kira on "Deep Space Nine", it would be rated higher.

CASE #77 - This fake of Michelle Pfeiffer is so good that it's scary. "The Outlaw" assisted in solving this case, and his assistance is greatly appreciated. There's absolutely nothing about this fake to indicate that it is a fake. There is no indication of digital editing where the dress straps were removed, nor where the real breasts were placed onto the shot. Only the fact that Michelle Pfeiffer has apparently never posed for any other true nude shots makes it slightly suspicious. The Fake Detective and his entirestaff were greatly impressed by this creation.

Addendum: Apparently, when viewed with some computers that have some unusual type of graphics card or monitor, clear indications of digital editing show up, but not on most computers - and not on the computer used by The Fake Detective.

CASE #78 - This fake of Janine Turner is very well done. The breasts were apparently painted in with some Photopaint-type software. However, The Fake Detective insists that Ms Turner's areolas are larger and darker. That's why he didn't rank it higher. He also says "the breasts just don't hang right". He won't say how he knows this, but he's an expert in such things. My knowledge is more limited, but I tend to agree with him on this subject.

Addendum: Much later we examined this fake again and truly regret we did not rate it higher. The artist did excellent work on moving the robe and lowering her left hand a bit so that he could expose the breasts. We paid too much attention to the small areolas and not enough attention to the art of moving the hand and the robe.

CASE #79 - This fake of Lisa Kudrow is a fairly obvious fake, since Ms Kudrow certainly doesn't have breasts that size. But it's still a fairly well done fake. The Fake Detective is grateful to "The Outlaw" for his assistance in solving this case.

CASE #80 - This fake of Annie Potts is probably rated higher than it should be, but The Fake Detective likes the original body shot and the fake is nicely done. Once again, The Fake Detective is grateful to "The Outlaw" for his assistance in solving this case.

CASE #81 - This fake of Maura Tierney is excellent. The artist even found a body shot with breasts of the right size. The Fake Detective dislikes fakes with huge breasts on women who are perfect as they are. Maura Tierney plays in "NewsRadio" and was in "Liar, Liar". The Fake Detective is grateful to "Sunioj" for assistance in closing this case.

CASE #82 - This fake of Anne Archer is fairly well done, but there are definite signs of digital editing around the neck. Plus a certain unnamed person on The Fake Detective's staff thinks the head is a tad too small. The rest of us weren't so sure until others pointed out that the body belonged to Cassandra Peterson (Elvira) and we looked at the fake and the real body shot side by side. Yep, the head is a tad too small.

CASE #83 - These two fakes of Jennifer Aniston were investigated in order to avoid a conflict with The State Department. Several people in Chile believed that the fakes were real, and to avoid an international incident The Fake Detective stepped in and took on both cases at once. Both are simple photo retouch jobs.

CASE #84 - This fake of Christina Applegate is excellent. Only on very close inspection can you see signs of digital editing, even around the hair where all traces of the red blouse had to be removed. None of us watch "Married With Children", but Christina appeared on a Fox TV News special with The Fake Detective where she complained about fakes done of her, so The Fake Detective decided to investigate. This is the first case resulting from that investigation.

CASE #85 - This fake of Drew Barrymore reminds us of the game called "What's wrong with this picture?" The answers: (1) the light on her face isn’t from the same direction as the light on her body and (2) her tattoos are missing. The Fake Detective is grateful to Gareth Chichester in the U.K. who provided a picture that originally helped us solve this case (but which had the legs in a different position), and to Brent Laycock who provided the exact picture that was used to create the fake.

Addendum: Actually, it's likely that none of Drew's tattoos would be visible in this pose, but so many people sent us e-mail to say it was another thing "wrong" with the picture that we decided to add it to the text.

CASE #86This "fake" of Goldie Hawn has been around a long time and has probably fooled a lot of people, including - briefly - The Fake Detective. It's actually a picture of someone else, who from a certain angle vaguely resembles Goldie. The Fake Detective suspects it wasn't a case of mistaken identity, but part of a growing trend toward deliberately trying to fool people by posting pictures of "look-alikes". The Fake Detective rates it as a "D" because no talent and no intelligence were needed to create this "fake". Many thanks to Jari Kumlander of Finland who responded to Wanted Poster #12 and found the pictures in a British skin magazine.

CASE #87This fake of Courtney Cox isn't very good, and it's an obvious fake, but it wasn't created the way The Fake Detective expected. When "Scruffles" supplied the body shot in response to Wanted Poster #5, we were all surprised that the body wasn't also faked by digital editing. It doesn't look real. (We're now guessing it was heavily air brushed.) Our thanks to "Scruffles" and to a tip by "Meridian" who told us where to find the picture.

Addendum: As has happened many times, Meridian found the picture in some magazine but didn't have a scanner, so he couldn't send it to us. But he provided the tip that allowed us to distribute that information and to obtain the actual picture from someone else.

CASE #88This fake of Victoria Principal has been around for a long time. Since Ms Principal has posed nude on at least two occasions, the only indicator that this photo was a fake was its explicit pose. In response to numerous requests The Fake Detective created Wanted Poster #13 for this photo. Within 48 hours we received a tip from "JJ" where to find the real photo, and Bob Lawless found it there and sent it to us. Many thanks.

CASE #89- This fake of Meg Ryan is fairly good and may be slightly underrated, but The Fake Detective feels the light on the face doesn't match the light on the body. However, he feels that the breasts on the body shot are a good match to the real ones.

CASE #90This fake of Sophia Loren has been around for a long time and may have fooled a lot of people. The Fake Detective, of course, was never fooled for a minute since no one looks like Sophia Loren to him but Sophia Loren. We're grateful to "Biber" in Germany for the page from "Celebrity Sleuth" magazine which not only explains where the fake came from but also has a great real picture of Sophia.

CASE #91This fake of Sophia Loren is excellent. Considerable expertise was required to create it. Of course, The Fake Detective knew it was a fake immediately because Ms Loren would never have posed for such a shot when she looked like this. We're all grateful to "Dimensional Traveler" for responding to Wanted Poster #15 and sending us with the real picture of Playmate Candy Loving.

CASE #92 - This fake of Christina Applegate has been around for years, and that's one reason The Fake Detective agreed to take it on as a case. Another reason is because he feels responsible for Christina's reputation after they appeared together on Fox TV News. It's not a particularly good fake, but some skill was needed to place the hair on the shoulder and to get rid of the background. "MS" is credited with an assist for sending the real photograph.

CASE #93This fake of Dolly Parton has been around about as long as fakes on the Internet have been around. The Fake Detective has wanted to expose this fake for as long as he's been in business, since it is one of the 20 most frequently posted fakes around. After searching for so long, none of us ever expected to find the real body shot. Then "Thorgal" in France sent in the body shot in response to Wanted Poster #3. We appreciate his assistance.

CASE #94This fake of Lisa Kudrow isn't very good and we don't particularly like the shot of Ms Kudrow. The jaw just doesn't look right to us, but others disagree and like the picture. Since a lot of people seemed to believe the fake was real, and since it's been around for some time, The Fake Detective decided it was time to expose it.

CASE #95This fake of the cast of "Gilligan's Island" has been posted so frequently that people seem to believe that it"s real. Or maybe they just like it as a fake. It does show imagination, as well as some skill. When The Fake Detective posted Wanted Poster #20, we didn't expect to be flooded with immediate responses. We thank "Sleepy" for being the first to respond, and "DroopAlong", "Solo" and "Lonnie Clute" for coming in a close second.

CASE #96 - This fake of Lynda Carter has been around for a very long time. When Stephen Smyth brought it to our attention, we were all surprised that we hadn't exposed it before this. We've exposed nearly 100 cases in less than a year, and it's beginning to look like we need some time off if we've missed something so obvious. The fake isn't very good. Not only do her breasts show clear signs of digital editing, but one swimsuit strap is still visible above her right wrist! That's pure carelessness.

CASE #97This fake of Sophia Loren is excellent. It's not only well done, but, this is one situation where using black and white gives a fake an air of authenticity. The other two fakes that use the same head shot aren't bad, either. They're probably worth case files of their own, but since they all use the same head shot we decided to combine them all into one case file. The Fake Detective was ably assisted on this case by Devon Hart who supplied the body shot and Stephen Smyth who supplied the head shot.

CASE #98 - This fake of Lady Diana seems to be in most collections of celebrity nudes, even though it is obviously a fake. Or is it just "obviously a fake" to The Fake Detective? It's a simple black and white photo retouch job - the most elementary type of fake - but since many people seem to believe that it is real, The Fake Detective decided it was time to create a case file for it.

CASE #99 - This fake of Cindy Crawford has been around for a long time and continues to fool a lot of people. It's a very good fake, and it's easy to see why it has fooled so many. The Fake Detective tends to concentrate on movie stars, but since Cindy has appeared in at least one movie, that now makes her "Fair Game".

CASE #100 - This fake of Sandra Bullock and me, Dr. Caesar Backside, really stunned us all!!!! The Fake Detective and his entire staff were shocked to discover that shortly after Idle Hands was committed to a rubber room at Sunnyvale Sanitarium he escaped long enough to create this fake and post it as a real photograph of Sandra Bullock and me at a picnic! I was shocked, too, I tell you! Shocked! We all need some time to recover. This will be the last case for awhile.

Addendum: The Fake Detective took a two month leave of absence after completion of this case. The shop was run by Honest John during his absence, so no cases were solved, but e-mail was answered.
